Physician / Medical Director – Hospice (MD/DO) 

Location: Southern California
Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Independent Contractor

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Director to join our hospice team. We welcome physicians with or without prior hospice or palliative care experience. Training and orientation will be provided for qualified candidates who are interested in hospice medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight for hospice patient care.
• Review and certify patient eligibility for hospice services in accordance with Medicare regulations.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in patient care planning and case conferences as needed.
• Be available for physician consultation regarding hospice patients.
• Ensure quality of care and compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Physician (MD or DO) license.
• Current DEA registration (preferred).
• Good standing with Medicare and ability to participate as a hospice physician.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Hospice or palliative care experience is preferred but not required. Physicians interested in learning hospice medicine are encouraged to apply.
