Position Overview

The Engineering Technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning and maintenance of machines and equipment to optimize productivity at acceptable quality levels to the plant as required. This position is for a 2nd shift but will need to complete training on 1st shift for a few weeks. 

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Carries out all maintenance, repairs and rework to production machinery, tooling and fixtures, using the total range of machine tools, maintenance shop equipment and measuring equipment.2. Assists on all product and process improvement projects carrying out necessary calculations in modifying generating blueprints.3. Ensure new machines/equipment is installed and commissioned efficiently.

4. Analysis of equipment needs weaknesses and identification of improvement to existing equipment.5. Assist in development of specification and implementation of new equipment,

6. Develop and maintain relationships with other departments to enable achievement of engineering objectives.

7. Liaise with vendors and department supervisors on an on-going basis, taking appropriate action in their support as required.

8. Supports and maintains manufacturing and administrative facilities.

9. Maintains good housekeeping, good work procedures, safety standards and adheres to company policy in relation to wearing protective equipment.

10. Carry out calibration functions on all process equipment.

Education / Skills

· High school graduate/GED 

At least 5 years manufacturing experience, preferably in the packaging manufacturing industry or pharma with an equivalent qualification with satisfactory manufacturing experience.

· Ability to work across multiple project teams

· Good electrical and mechanical knowledge with hands on experience.

· Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Internet)

· Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.

· Documentation skills.

· Packaging machine experience

Work Environment

· Works throughout the facility as needed (warehouse, administrative office, production area)

· Temperature controlled ISO-13485 clean room.

· Adheres to all protocols for working in a clean room environment per standard operating procedures.
