Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) specialty position is located in a healthcare facility that provides post-operative recovery services for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The role involves performing patient assessments, monitoring vital signs, and managing patient recovery following anesthesia procedures. The position offers a schedule of days shifts, with a commitment of 8 hours per shift and a minimum of 40 hours per week over the contract duration.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Typical start times range from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, based on operational needs. Variations in days off each week, including potential rotation based on staffing and patient care requirements.
• Required Qualifications: Valid California registered nurse licensure uploaded within the last 2 weeks with a current license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification, and at least 2 years of experience in PACU or related acute care setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience, community hospital experience, trauma level I or II experience, travel experience.
• Floats: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The candidate will be responsible for managing airway assessments, vital sign monitoring, post-operative patient education, and handling various post-anesthesia procedures. Familiarity with PACU-specific equipment and protocols is required. All compliance documents, including licensure and certifications, must be submitted within 10 days prior to start date.
