Locations : Chicago | Detroit | Minneapolis Who We Are Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact. To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive. Practice Area Inspiring the bold who advance the health of care. BCG's global Health Care team works across the health care ecosystem to deliver sustainable competitive advantage for our clients, to create value for society, and to improve outcomes for patients. And we are passionate about it. We are committed to developing new insights and, through our customized approach, helping organizations navigate rapid change in today's digital world. Our global health care team serves top companies across the health care industry—including biopharmaceuticals, medical technologies and devices, health care providers, payers, services, and global health. BCG's Health Care Practice is the third largest industry practice globally, and second in the US. What You’ll Do BCG is growing! We are looking for experienced consultants to join our Health Care team at the Project Leader or Principal level. Qualified individuals will play a critical role in enriching project work and bringing forward-thinking solutions to our Health Care Services clients – primarily health systems and health insurance companies. Ideal candidates will have previous management consulting experience and demonstrated leadership in growing client relations, people and knowledge development. In this role, you will lead high-impact transformation programs, partnering with OneBCG teams — spanning traditional consulting, digital, AI, and technology talent — as well as senior client stakeholders. This is an outstanding opportunity to sharpen your problem-solving toolkit while gaining exposure to a broad range of industry challenges and opportunities. Health Care consultants’ partner with Health Care Services clients to define winning strategies, shape their value proposition, enhance their operational effectiveness, and create sustained advantage. Project Leaders play a key role on client engagements, managing studies to define client needs and supervising research activities to obtain relevant data. Project Leaders oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, and the advanced financial analysis of client, competitor, and industry data. They apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization, develop actionable recommendations, and supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities. Project Leaders are also responsible for managing client contact and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships. As the senior person most frequently at the client site, Principals interact with the client lead on a day-to-day basis to ensure that expectations are aligned. Principals provide the project management oversight required to meet client expectations. Responsibilities may include the development of presentations, managing of external relationships and consultant work progress, providing status reports, and overseeing budgets. Our Expert Consulting Track The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting. What You’ll Bring Demonstrated consulting and industry experience within the Health Care Services sector; Health insurance, health system, or PBM / enabling service experience preferred. 3–5+ years of post-graduate consulting experience, including at least 1 year leading consulting teams on Health Care Services-focused engagements. Track record of collaboration with senior executives. Must be comfortable delivering formal presentations to management. Strong management and communication skills. The ability to bring together all stakeholders and persuade senior clients to take action is essential. Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm. Proven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide “thought leadership” to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements. A combination of management and “hands on” delivery experience is critical. A solid track record of building strong client relationships with large organizations, as well as identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and grow the business. Technical degree is nice to have but not required. A degree from a top-tier institution preferred. Who You’ll Work With BCG’s Health Care practice is driven by a global team of over 100 dedicated Managing Directors and Partners and 700+ talented professionals.
