Job Posting Title: Senior Failure Analysis Lab Technician Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: To Be Determined at Offer Earliest Start Date: Ongoing Position Duration: Expected to Continue Location: MONTOPOLIS RESEARCH CENTER Purpose The Senior Failure Analysis Lab Technician will run and maintain failure analysis (F/A) equipment and provide F/A results in a timely manner. Responsibilities Run dual-beam FIBs and SEM/X-Ray data collection with complementary surface science analytical tool operations Perform detailed sample preparation to enable feature measurements, defect detection and domain-specific failure analysis Present results, compile reports and work in a team incorporating feedback from engineers and other technicians Develop processes-of-record and implement these on product samples for customers Performs other related functions as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent Eight years experience in sample preparation and failure analysis techniques Goal-oriented and ability to prioritize and multitask Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well in teams Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree or a higher degree in science, engineering or other relevant disciplines Ten years experience in sample preparation and failure analysis techniques Experience with semiconductor equipment and processes Experience in a research or start-up environment Salary Range $60,000 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished) May work around chemical fumes May work around standard office conditions May work around chemicals May work around electrical and mechanical hazards Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity (ex: using a mouse) Equal Opportunity Employer The University of Texas at Austin, as an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer, complies with all applicable federal and state laws regarding nondiscrimination and affirmative action.
