Automotive Technician Position

Poquet Auto is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team in Golden Valley, Minnesota. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician capable of performing advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and providing technical leadership within the shop. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining Poquet Auto's reputation for quality, accuracy, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on drivability, electrical, engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and brake systems
• Accurately diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues efficiently and correctly the first time
• Interpret scan tool data, wiring diagrams, and technical service information
• Complete high-level repairs including engine, transmission, and major system repairs
• Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation
• Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding diagnoses, repair recommendations, and timelines
• Maintain detailed, accurate repair documentation
• Follow all safety procedures and shop policies
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred
• ASE Master Technician certification preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Strong diagnostic skills with electrical and drivability systems
• Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment and scan tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Own tools appropriate for an A Level Technician
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred
