Key Responsibilities of the Certified Surgical Technician CVOR
- Assist in heart surgeries, including coronary artery bypass and adult heart transplants
- Manage equipment such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and cell savers
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and procedure efficiency
- Adhere to sterile techniques and infection control protocols
- Document procedures and patient information accurately using Meditech
Requirements of the Certified Surgical Technician CVOR
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) TX Certified
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital/specialty experience in CVOR
- Experience with heart transplant procedures and peripheral vascular operations preferred
