Direct Support Professional (Weekdays) Fluency in American Sign Language Direct Support Professional 1:1 (PT) Job Description: COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES For the DEAF, Inc.

POSITION:

Direct Support Professional.

STATUS:

Part-Time Regular. 1:1 Support 30 hours/week. (includes Benefits)

WHO IS A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL?

A supportive, “hands-on” person who assists Deaf Adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. Includes providing 1:1 support most of the time, but can be up to 1:4. Responsibilities for assisting in the evening routine including personal care, preparing meals, administering medication, and transporting to medical appointments/activities, and job sites. Other responsibilities as identified in the annual Person-Centered Plan (PCP) meeting.

EXPECTATIONS:

Must be a team player that has a positive attitude and shows respect at all times. Patience is required. Annual Physical and Flu vaccine required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma. Relevant experience is a plus. Valid MD Driver’s License with 2 points or less. Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).

WORK HOURS:

Monday thru Friday 5p-11p, in the Baltimore area.
