Lead Facility Worker

South Dakota State University is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our Facilities & Services team as a Lead Facility Worker. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations and maintaining a safe, efficient campus environment. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in providing work direction and training to permanent employees and student employees.
• Delegate and assign work in the absence of the Custodial Services Supervisor I.
• Provide building services to SDState facilities so people can learn and work in a safe and clean environment.
• Provide hard surface floor maintenance, carpet and restroom care, building security, and various maintenance tasks.

• Knowledge of computer software applications and systems.
• Skill and ability to maintain levels of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Lead and train staff.
• Delegate and assign work.
• Complete quality checks, ensuring guidelines, requirements and processes are followed.
• Provide oral instructions.
• Provide written instructions.
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Bend, stretch, climb ladders, twist, and walk.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.

Required License: Valid driver's license.
