Position Overview The VP Assistant Controller will lead the Accounting Department, oversee the monthly close cycle, and manage financial reporting, internal controls, and the NetSuite implementation. The role contributes to strategic decision making, tax compliance, mergers & acquisitions support, and special projects. Responsibilities Maintain complete and accurate general ledgers and financial records for the entire enterprise. Prepare monthly close packages, internal accounting reports, and safeguard compliance with SOX, SBA, and other regulations. Review and approve all vouching schedules and ensure the timely close of the monthly process. Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements and aid in the MD&A communication to external stakeholders. Coordinate annual audit procedures and maintain a service plan with the independent accounting firm. Ensure accurate maintenance of bank accounts, treasury systems, and cash‑management policies. Provide leadership, direct supervision, training, and development of accounting staff. Support business planning, mergers & acquisitions, technical accounting research, and other reporting requirements. Assist with tax compliance, including income and operating taxes in partnership with Deloitte. Travel as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on leadership roles. CPA and/or MBA preferred. Experience in banking or financial services industry. Proficiency with NetSuite and Workiva preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements). Demonstrated technical accounting research capability. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $171,200 - $194,300 annually. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
