Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Take the next step in your educational career as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-12 students near New Orleans, LA for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract-based opportunity begins August 3, 2026 and continues through May 27, 2027, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule with 35 hours per week.

In this role, you’ll play a vital part in helping students reach their individual learning goals by developing and implementing effective instructional strategies for learners with special needs. Age groups and caseload specifics will be assigned at a later date; multiple locations may be available within the district.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education Teaching Certification with SPED endorsement (required)
  • Experience working in a special education setting in schools
  • Ability to collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and families to support student progress
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
  • Must be prepared to complete district drug screening and fingerprinting, plus agency credentialing procedures
  • Only currently certified Louisiana teachers will be considered, as candidates must be able to start without delay; TA or TAT credentials are not accepted

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Deliver engaging instruction tailored to each student’s abilities and needs
  • Track and report progress, maintaining accurate and timely documentation
  • Work closely with school staff to create inclusive learning environments
  • Communicate regularly with families and relevant service providers
