Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Custom Home Construction Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of our custom residential construction projects.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional with extensive knowledge of residential building practices, strong subcontractor management skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple projects from start to completion.

This is a field-based position requiring an active presence on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Management & Supervision

• Oversee daily construction activities across multiple custom residential projects.
• Manage construction schedules, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure timely project completion.
• Monitor all phases of construction, from site preparation and foundation through final finishes and homeowner turnover.
• Read, interpret, and enforce architectural plans, engineering drawings, specifications, and approved revisions.
• Identify construction deficiencies, scheduling conflicts, and potential issues before they become costly problems.
• Coordinate required inspections and ensure work complies with applicable building codes, permits, and approved plans.

Subcontractor Coordination & Accountability

• Schedule, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors and specialty trades.
• Verify that subcontractors complete work according to approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Hold subcontractors accountable for workmanship, schedules, jobsite cleanliness, and corrective work.
• Identify incomplete or unacceptable work and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.
• Maintain professional working relationships while enforcing company expectations.

Quality Control & Jobsite Standards

• Conduct routine jobsite inspections and document construction progress.
• Maintain high standards for craftsmanship, finishes, and overall construction quality.
• Ensure jobsites remain clean, organized, safe, and presentable.
• Monitor proper installation of building materials and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Enforce erosion control, site protection, and community construction requirements.
• Prepare and manage punch lists, verify corrections, and coordinate final project completion.

Project Communication & Documentation

• Provide regular progress updates to company management.
• Maintain accurate records of jobsite activities, inspections, construction issues, and subcontractor performance.
• Communicate scheduling changes, material needs, and potential delays promptly.
• Coordinate with suppliers, inspectors, engineers, and other construction professionals.
• Assist with homeowner walkthroughs, final inspections, and warranty-related items as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

• Minimum 5 years of residential construction supervision experience , preferably in custom or luxury home construction.
• Strong working knowledge of all phases of residential construction.
• Proven ability to manage multiple active construction projects simultaneously.
• Experience supervising and coordinating independent subcontractors and specialty trades.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans.
• Thorough understanding of construction sequencing, building codes, and inspection requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and make sound field decisions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Comfortable using smartphones, email, photographs, and basic construction management software.

Preferred:

• Experience building high-end custom homes in Central Florida.
• Familiarity with Florida Building Code and local permitting and inspection processes.
• Experience with detailed finish work, custom materials, and high-end residential craftsmanship.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling, jobsite documentation, and punch-list management.
