Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Neuroscience Intermediate Care)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles on a 12-bed unit
• Care for patient populations including neuro trauma, subarachnoid, intraventricular, and intracerebral hemorrhage, post-operative spine patients, and a wide range of neurological conditions
• Support ENT oncology patients following tumor resection and flap reconstruction procedures
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3
• Float within scope of practice as needed per facility policy
• Complete unit-specific orientation modules as required

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must be available every other weekend and every other holiday; must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in a neuroscience or intermediate care/stepdown setting
• Familiarity with post-operative neurosurgical and spine patient care
