Step into a rewarding classroom experience as a dedicated Special Education Teacher with a focus on providing quality support for students! This full-time contract position spans the academic year from late August 2026 to June 2027 and is ideal for passionate educators motivated to make a difference every day. You’ll work at the elementary level, guiding a diverse caseload in the Learning Resource Center and collaborating with colleagues to ensure each student receives the individualized education and advocacy they deserve.

What we’re seeking:

• Valid Washington State Special Education (SPED) teaching license and certification
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in an LRC or elementary environment
• Willingness to obtain (or current possession of) fingerprint clearance through OPSI
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
• Commitment to fostering inclusion and adapting curriculum to meet diverse learner needs
• Ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and families

In this role, you will:

• Provide instructional support and interventions for students with IEPs in the LRC1 program
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans
• Modify curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate student learning styles
• Collect data, track progress, and participate in IEP meetings
• Communicate effectively with parents, school teams, and support staff
• Promote a positive, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment

This is a full-time, 37.5 hour-per-week contract offering compensation of $88 per hour. The role promises a dynamic work environment and the chance to profoundly impact young learners’ lives in a supportive elementary school community.
