Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy-

Job Description

Job Description

Licensed Child & Family Therapist (LPCMH, LCSW, LMFT)

Middletown, Delaware | Full-Time | W-2 | $61,000–$74,000 at 25 sessions/week | $90,000+ potential with a fuller caseload

At a Glance

  • $43–$53 per completed session, plus paid documentation, meetings, and required consultation at $20/hour.
  • Large referral waitlist to help build your caseload quickly.
  • $2,000 welcome benefit: choose a sign-on bonus or paid specialty training.
  • Weekly schedule with 30 hours of availability, including core hours Monday–Friday, 2–5 PM, plus two weekday evenings or one weekend shift.
  • Four in-office days and one telehealth day per week.
  • No non-compete. No on-call duties.

What If the Rest of Your Career Felt Different?

You've earned your license, worked hard in agency or community mental health settings, and developed the skills to help children and families through difficult situations. You also know how exhausting it can be when administrative demands, productivity pressure, and limited support get in the way of good clinical work.

At Resilient Kids, you'll have clinical autonomy, paid time for required documentation and consultation, administrative support, and a caseload matched to your interests. Our goal is to help you practice excellent therapy without sacrificing your personal life.

Built by a Therapist Who Understands

Marissa Lloyd, LPCMH, founded Resilient Kids in 2017 with a simple belief: when therapists feel genuinely supported, their clients receive better care. Marissa remains actively involved in the practice as a clinician and leader.

We're expanding our team at our Downtown Middletown location, with an established clinical team and opportunities to grow as the practice develops.

Your Caseload, Your Clinical Voice

You choose the ages, populations, and specialties you want to work with based on your training and interests. Our focus includes children, adolescents, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, school challenges, and self-confidence difficulties.

  • Primarily in-person work with one telehealth day per week.
  • Families with a strong history of engagement and a reported show rate exceeding 95%.
  • Parents are encouraged to participate in their own therapeutic work when appropriate.
  • You may decline referrals outside your training without penalty.
  • Administrative staff handle intake, insurance verification, billing, scheduling, credentialing, and routine follow-up.

Your First Eight Weeks

Our referral waitlist helps new clinicians build their caseload without waiting months for clients.

  • Week 1: Paid onboarding, systems training, and introductions.
  • Weeks 2–3: Begin with approximately 12 sessions per week.
  • Weeks 4–5: Build toward 18 sessions per week.
  • Weeks 6–7: Progress toward 22 sessions per week.
  • Week 8 onward: Work toward the 25-session baseline.

These are targets, not guarantees. Your actual pace depends on your availability, referral fit, and client scheduling. Onboarding and required meetings are paid at $20/hour.

What You'll Earn

  • Session rate: $43–$53 per completed session, based on experience and reviewed annually.
  • Evening/weekend differential: An additional $5 per session after 5 PM or on weekends.
  • Documentation: One paid hour at $20 for every 10 completed sessions.
  • Meetings, required consultation, and training: Paid at $20/hour.
  • Annual raises: Performance-based increases.
  • W-2 protection: Insurance denials and clawbacks do not come out of your pay. Compensation is paid according to your agreement regardless of insurance reimbursement timing.

Estimated Annual Earnings

At 25 completed sessions per week, estimated annual earnings range from approximately $61,000 to $74,000, depending on your session rate. With a fuller caseload, earnings may reach $90,000 or more.

Illustrative estimates:

  • 25 sessions/week: approximately $61,000–$74,000.
  • 28 sessions/week: approximately $68,000–$83,000.
  • 30 sessions/week: approximately $73,000–$88,000.
  • 32 sessions/week: approximately $77,000–$94,000.

Estimates include session pay, applicable documentation and meeting pay, evening/weekend differentials, and paid time off. Actual earnings vary with attendance, scheduled work, and applicable compensation terms.

When a Client Doesn't Show

If a client doesn't attend, you can head home (the missed hour is unpaid) or choose an approved project and earn $20/hour for the time worked. Projects may include creating parent handouts, recording educational videos, developing therapeutic materials, planning workshops, organizing playroom supplies, or completing relevant professional development. Staying is always your choice.

Parent and school communication remains part of clinical work. Our administrative team coordinates releases, scheduling, and records requests so you can focus on the clinical conversation.

Your $2,000 Welcome Benefit

After six months with us, choose one:

Option A: $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Option B: $2,000 toward approved specialty training. Options may include EMDR, TF-CBT, TBRI®, PCIT, Theraplay®, play therapy, or another approved specialty aligned with your professional goals.

A Schedule Built for the Long Game

We believe work-life balance comes from clear expectations and protected boundaries—not vague promises of flexibility.

  • 30 hours of weekly availability. Core hours are Monday–Friday, 2–5 PM, plus two weekday evenings (5–8 PM) or one weekend shift.
  • You choose your remaining hours. Your schedule is established at hire rather than renegotiated every week.
  • 25 completed sessions is the baseline. You can choose a fuller caseload to increase your earnings.
  • Documentation is paid. Required documentation is compensated under our pay structure.
  • No on-call duties or after-hours client texting.
  • PTO is protected. When you're off, you're off.

The evening and weekend requirements reflect the realities of child and family therapy: children attend school, parents work, and families need appointments outside traditional business hours.

We value in-person collaboration, particularly when clinicians need to consult with colleagues or discuss complex cases. Our four-day office schedule is balanced with one telehealth day per week.

Clinical Support and Professional Growth

You have the autonomy of an independently licensed clinician, with colleagues and leadership available when you want to think through a challenging case.

  • Monthly case consultation during paid, protected time.
  • Direct access to the Clinical Director and senior clinicians.
  • Free, optional CEUs through Lunch & Learns covering practical child and family mental health topics.
  • Freedom to practice in your own clinical voice without a mandated treatment modality.
  • Opportunities to develop specialties, lead therapy groups, and move into clinical supervision or leadership as the practice grows.

Through our partnership with Buddy's Place, a nonprofit farm in Middletown, clinicians interested in nature-based or animal-assisted approaches can explore training and mentorship. Farm-based work is optional.

Have an idea for a new group, parent workshop, community partnership, or specialty program? We welcome clinician-led initiatives and support ideas that align with client needs and practice goals.

Benefits

  • Highmark Delaware health insurance with 50% of the premium paid by the employer.
  • Malpractice insurance.
  • Up to 80 hours of paid time off annually.
  • Delaware Paid Leave and Delaware EARNS retirement plan.
  • Workers' compensation and unemployment insurance.
  • Employer-paid Social Security and Medicare taxes.
  • Annual performance-based raises.
  • Paid onboarding and required training.
  • Free CEUs through optional Lunch & Learns.
  • No non-compete agreement.

Our Culture

We value compassion, clinical integrity, collaboration, equity, inclusion, and continuous learning. Our practice is anti-racist, LGBTQ+ inclusive, and neurodiversity-affirming.

We also believe colleagues should enjoy working together. Team dinners and retreats at Buddy's Place may include yoga, gardening, vegetable picking, and time outdoors.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active Delaware license as an LPCMH, LCSW, or LMFT in good standing.
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related mental health field.
  • Clinical experience working with children, adolescents, or families.
  • Ability to work in-office four days per week at our Middletown location.
  • Ability to meet the required core hours and evening or weekend availability.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and caseload-management skills.
  • Willingness to coordinate with parents, schools, prescribers, pediatricians, and other providers when appropriate.

Bilingual clinicians and therapists from historically underrepresented backgrounds in mental health are strongly encouraged to apply. Resilient Kids Child & Family Therapy is an equal opportunity employer.

How We Hire

Most candidates move from application to offer within seven days. If you're considering another offer, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your timeline.

Step 1: Apply. Submit your resume and a short application.

Step 2: Meet with Marissa Lloyd, LPCMH, Founder. A 30-minute conversation about your goals, our practice, compensation, and mutual fit.

Step 3: Clinical conversation. Discuss a brief case vignette provided in advance with our Clinical Director. We're interested in how you think clinically, not how polished your paperwork is.

Step 4: Decision and onboarding. Begin a structured first 90 days with gradual caseload development and weekly check-ins.

The Work You Do Changes Lives. We Want to Make Sure It Doesn't Cost You Yours.

Burnout isn't caused by caring too much. It often comes from systems that take more than they give. If you're ready for a practice that invests in its clinicians, respects boundaries, and creates room for professional growth, we'd love to meet you. Apply today!
