Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PRN) – AdventHealth Orlando Overview Provides patient care for neonates and newborns in Level 4 NICU under supervision of physicians, performing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within scope of licensure. Responsibilities Provide care for NICU and newborn patients within scope of licensure and within supervising physician’s scope. Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, order and interpret labs, X‑rays and other diagnostic studies per specialty guidelines. Perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, umbilical lines, PICC lines, chest tube placement and circumcisions. Communicate effectively with parents, specialists and NICU team members. Provide education and support to patients’ families. Dispense medications under collaborative agreement with supervising physician. Required Education and Experience Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies with Neonatal Certification (required). 1–2 years of experience in NICU as an RN (highly preferred). 1–2 years of experience in NICU as a Neonatal APRN or Neonatal PA‑C (preferred but not required). Required Licensure and Certification Valid Florida APRN or PA‑C license with Neonatal certification. Certification through ANCC or other nationally recognized certifying body. NRP certification.
