Registered Nurse I (County Promotional)

Position Overview This recruitment is only open to current San Bernardino County, Fire Department, or Special Districts employees holding regular, contract, extra-help, recurrent, Public Service Employee, Work Experience Program (WEX) or intern positions. Recent RN Graduates are welcome to apply. The entry-level Registered Nurse I position at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is designed to prepare nurses with less than one year of experience for transition into professional nursing roles across Critical Care, Medical‑Surgical/Telemetry, Labor & Delivery, NICU, Mother‑Baby, Burn, and Emergency Department units. Job Responsibilities Assume responsibilities in assigned clinical units while completing clinical training and orientation. Develop technical and clinical skills under the supervision of preceptors. Participate in preceptorship, orientation, and certification processes. Support patient care under the guidance of senior nursing staff. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must complete the NCLEX on or before July 5, 2026 and submit proof of exam completion by that date. Less than one year of RN experience. Will be promoted to the journey classification upon successful completion of the trainee period (preceptorship, orientation, and/or certification). Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
