Marine Structural Journeyman Welding
Required: Must have 3 years minimum marine structural journeyman welding experience.
General Function: Welds together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:
- Utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials including the specifications of the particular equipment to be used in the process.
- Must be able to weld butts and bulbs in all positions and pass Ultrasonic (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) test methods.
- Tank testing and associated duties as required.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The ability to pass a welding test in the overhead and vertical positions based on certifications being sought.
Desirable Experience & Training: Prior experience as a welder or vocational training is acceptable.
