Entry Level Microbiologist

This position is Second Shift, Tuesday-Saturday. Completing all training in a timely and complete manner; working with an experienced analyst/mentor performing various tasks and analyses of Bio/pharmaceutical ingredients and products; reviewing or preparing standards and samples for analysis and running any equipment or instrumentation independently and/or with guidance; working efficiently; ensuring that the client receives quality data by reviewing laboratory data for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to GMP and/or GLP regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
• Applies the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility
• Demonstrates strong client service skills, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Meets all quality and productivity metrics and demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Performs laboratory operations with good dexterity, good laboratory technique, and high degree of accuracy and precision
• Perform/Review preparations of reagents, samples, and standards according to procedures.
• Document testing, observations, deviations, and results clearly and completely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements - striving to minimize errors
• Read and understand analytical procedures (compendial and client supplied) and internal SOP's
• Use MS Windows applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook email
• Process data, generate reports, and evaluate data
• Perform laboratory maintenance and maintain clean workspace
• Commitment to occasional overtime as workload requires

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, or related degree concentration
• MUST have authorization to work in the US indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Microscopes and biological safety cabinets
• Media preparation
• Pipetting
• Organism/culture preparation
• Serial dilution
• Aseptic technique

Additional Information

Working schedule will be Full-Time, Second Shift, Tues-Sat 3pm-11pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply. No relocation assistance will be given. 25% travel may be required. This position is NOT remote.
