Sr Lead Software Engineer - AI

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production systems.
• We require 2+ years of hands-on experience building LLM-based applications, including agentic architectures, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks.
• We need strong software engineering fundamentals across distributed systems, event-driven design, API development, testing, and cloud platforms such as AWS/EKS/ECS.
• We expect expert-level use of AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor, as part of the daily workflow.
• We require production experience with at least one of the following: Kotlin/JVM (Java), Python, or Rust.
• We need demonstrated capability to operate and troubleshoot complex systems.
• We require strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to engineers and business partners.
• We require experience with code migration.
• Preferred: experience with legacy systems, mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, and DB2, or large-scale modernization programs.
• Preferred: familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal or Airflow, plus event sourcing and CDC patterns.
• Preferred: experience with Kafka, PostgreSQL, and container orchestration such as Kubernetes/EKS.
• Preferred: background in financial services, wealth management, brokerage, or capital markets processing.
• Preferred: experience building code analysis, translation, or verification tooling.
• Preferred: a Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• We build and operate the specification generation pipeline, including artifact ingestion, chunking strategies, RAG pipelines, and expert-validated calculation and workflow specifications.
• We design and refine agentic workflows that translate legacy logic into target-state Kotlin/JVM code, with orchestration, tool-use patterns, and guardrails to protect calculation accuracy.
• We create evaluation and verification infrastructure, including automated test harnesses, parity testing, regression suites, and confidence scoring for cutover decisions.
• We contribute to the standard calculation runtime so migrated calculations can run in a deterministic, immutable, and auditable environment.
• We partner closely with domain SMEs across Credit, Money Market & Mutual Funds, Statements & Tax, and IBOR to validate outputs and close specification gaps.
• We extend ETL and CDC pipelines to support end-to-end migrated workflows and dependency mapping.
• We operate AI systems in production, owning deployment, monitoring, cost control, latency optimization, token budget management, and incident response.
• We iterate rapidly in build-measure-learn cycles, prototype quickly, instrument our work, and use data to guide architecture, model selection, and prompt strategy decisions.
• We contribute shared tooling and infrastructure, including reusable libraries, evaluation harnesses, prompt templates, and orchestration patterns.
