Benefits SpecialistJob#: 3058018Job Description:Apex Systems is hiring a Benefits Specialist for a large Healthcare client. Location: fully remote anywhere in the US, must be comfortable supporting PST.Role OverviewAn experienced Benefits Specialist is required to support the end-to-end compliance and administration of employee retirement plans. This role focuses on ensuring legal, reporting, testing, documentation, and disclosure requirements are met for governmental agencies. The successful candidate will manage plan documentation, identify and remediate compliance issues, and support audit and third-party inquiries.Key ResponsibilitiesReview defined benefit claims and draft formal determination letters.Review employee communications, including Summary Plan Descriptions and Summary of Material Modifications, to ensure regulatory compliance.Assist with regulatory filings, including Form 5500 and associated schedules.Support pension plan restatements and verify compliance with changing regulatory standards.Prepare and analyze large datasets from plan auditors, actuaries, and third-party administrators.Interpret complex pension plan documents, including eligibility provisions and collective bargaining agreements.Investigate compliance errors, perform deep-dive research, and present findings to leadership.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree is required.Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience in defined benefit pension plan administration. Proven experience reviewing pension claims, drafting appeals, and partnering with legal counsel is essential.Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and database analysis. Experience utilizing Oracle or HCM database systems is required.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in a relevant field.Actuarial training or professional consulting experience.Deep understanding of ERISA and Department of Labor regulations.Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
