What You'll Do

As an On-Call Substitute, you will be expected to demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively with the classroom staff, assisting in the coordination of activities and ensuring a seamless learning experience. Your duties will include:

• Completing thorough preparation and organization of learning materials for the classroom.
• Assisting in the implementation of lesson plans to support children in achieving their learning goals.
• Building on your experience working with children, showcasing creativity, flexibility, and excellent communication skills.
• Communicating effectively, sensitively, and respectfully with families, referring them to the Lead Teacher for details regarding their child's classroom experiences.
• Possibly being given the opportunity to join the team full-time when an opening arises.
• Completing a minimum of 15 hours of training/coaching annually in the required content areas as specified by the Office of Children and Family Services.

Requirements

• On-Call/Part-Time Substitute (typical hours 8:30 am-2:30 pm)
• Health Check Required
• Fingerprinting Required
• Background Check Required
• 3 References Required   with at least one from an employer, student teaching supervisor, or volunteer coordinator if possible.
• Min Requirement: High School Diploma and 2 years experience working with children ages 2-5
• Preferred: Associates Degree or CDA (Child Development Associate) Certificate

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with children ages 2-5 is a plus.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred but not required.
