If you’re looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you’re in the right place.**About This Role**Dowhas an exciting opportunity for a **Maintenance Technician** located in **Beaumont** or **Orange, Texas.**Provides maintenance craft specific support to plants. Maintains and repairs all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.**Responsibilities*** Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.* Calibrates and aligns equipment.* Completes preventative maintenance activities.* Checks sizing of components and parts.* Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.* Coordinates maintenance spare parts.* Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.* Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.* Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.* Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.* Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.**Required Qualifications*** A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.* 1 or more years of experience working with basic process equipment (pumps, blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).* Must have a current, valid US driver’s license to drive a forklift.* Able to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed with or without reasonable accommodation.* A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.**Preferred Qualifications*** Experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of reciprocating compressors is preferred.* NCCER Certification, Trade School or Associates preferred.* SAP experience preferred.* Experience using Microsoft Office software.* Ability to use and read a Micrometer.* Setting clearance on pumps with open face impeller.* Orientation on angular contact ball bearings.* Mechanical seal tensions.* Gear pumps and positive displacement pumps.**Physical Demands*** *Able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation** Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.* Wear and use respirators.* Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.* Work in tight or closed-in spaces.* Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.* Stand or walk for extended periods of time.* Frequent/ occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 50 lbs.* Work at heights greater than or equal to 4 ft off the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs. (This typically accommodates individuals who weigh 285 or less)**Skills*** **Mechanical Maintenance:** Diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains process equipment and machinery, including pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.* **Preventive Maintenance:** Performs preventive maintenance activities, collects equipment history and operating data, and supports reliability improvements through failure analysis and proactive maintenance practices.* **Equipment Installation and Precision Alignment:** Installs, calibrates, aligns, and verifies equipment components, ensuring proper sizing, tolerances, clearances, bearing orientation, and mechanical seal performance to meet operational requirements.* **Maintenance Planning:** Collaborates with planners, work coordinators, and operations personnel to prioritize, schedule, and execute maintenance activities while following established Maintenance Work Processes and procedures.* **Materials Management:** Documents maintenance findings, completes failure analyses, manages spare parts, specifies and requisitions equipment and materials, and utilizes systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office to support maintenance operations.**Additional Notes*** No relocation assistance is available for this position.**Benefits – What Dow offers you**We invest in you.
