Research Assistant

A leading global financial institution is seeking a Bilingual Investment Research Assistant to support its asset management research and business development activities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional interested in investment management, manager research, and financial markets. The successful candidate will work closely with senior professionals, supporting research initiatives, preparing investment-related materials, maintaining internal databases, and coordinating with investment managers and stakeholders in both the U.S. and Japan. Key Responsibilities Assist with research and analysis of the asset management industry, investment managers, and investment products. Support the preparation of performance reports, market research, investment presentations, and industry analyses. Maintain and update internal databases related to investment managers and investment products. Prepare charts, reports, and presentation materials for internal and external use. Coordinate meetings with investment managers and other industry participants, including scheduling, logistics, and meeting documentation. Support senior management with ad hoc research requests and administrative projects. Prepare internal approval documentation and assist with travel coordination and expense processing. Assist with operational and administrative functions related to manager research activities, including fee administration and technology support. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders in both New York and Tokyo. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related fields preferred. Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal). Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced professional environment. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Interest in financial markets, asset management, and investment research.
