This role supports students in exploring medical specialty options, setting career goals, and enhancing their competitiveness for residency programs. The advisor works collaboratively with Student Affairs and the Residency Development Specialist to ensure successful career outcomes for students. The position offers a hybrid schedule, with three days on campus and two days remote each week. The UCR School of Medicine's Office of Student Affairs is dedicated to supporting medical students throughout their academic journey, from admission to graduation. The department offers a comprehensive suite of services, including academic advising, career and residency guidance, financial aid assistance, wellness resources, and student life programming. Its mission is to foster student success by providing equitable access to resources and cultivating a diverse, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The full salary range for the Residency and Career Advisor is $61,000 - $106,800 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $83,900 annually. Base salary offers depend on education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Key Responsibilities Provide individual and group career advising to medical students, focusing on fourth‑year students preparing for residency. Develop and facilitate workshops and other educational presentations on specialty options, CV building, interview skills, and residency application timelines. Coordinate faculty advisor involvement and build a network of residency program contacts. Create and maintain career‑related resources such as specialty guides, residency program databases, and application checklists. Collaborate with Student Affairs and Residency Development Specialist to support students’ career outcomes. Maintain a hybrid schedule with three days on campus and two days remote each week.
