We are hiring a License Practical Nurse to provide 1:1 care for students in a public school setting. This role is ideal for nurses with pediatric or skilled nursing experience who want a lower-stress environment while continuing to use hands-on clinical skills. Schedule:
- Monday-Friday (day shift)
- No nights or weekends
- Flexible per diem scheduling
- Provide direct 1:1 nursing care for a student during the school day
- Perform tracheostomy care (suctioning and airway management)
- Administer G-tube feedings and care
- Monitor and respond to seizures (including precautions/intervention)
- Support diabetes care (blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration)
- Provide urinary catheter care as needed
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor vital signs and student health status
- Respond to medical needs and emergencies
- Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers
- Active LPN license in Virginia (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred
- Comfortable with or willing to learn trach, G-tube, and seizure care
- No nights, weekends, or hospital shifts
- Flexible scheduling with consistent daytime hours
