Health Advisor

Overview Opportunity reporting to the Lead, Disability Management, this position is primarily responsible for supporting the ongoing delivery, development and enhancement of TC Energy’s Health Services program. What You’ll Do Return to Work : Provides subject matter expertise regarding return‑to‑work determinations and medical assessments; ensures TC Energy’s return‑to‑work expectations through program development and continuous improvement; collaborates with medical management partners, internally and externally. Disability Management : Provides subject matter expertise for occupational and non‑occupational illness/injury management and is responsible for the case management of return‑to‑work referrals. Wellbeing : Delivers customized health promotions and education; assists in developing strategies to address health risks; develops employee communications to promote awareness and participation; liaises with internal and external stakeholders; supports the organization with innovative strategies to promote attendance and a culture of continuous improvement; works closely with management to ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Human Resources policies; keeps Health Services programs current; reports on key performance indicators; collaborates on communication and delivery of Health Services; provides occupational health support during emergencies. Minimum Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) designation with an active, unrestricted license in the relevant jurisdiction. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Occupational Health Nursing certification preferred. Minimum 3‑5 years’ experience in occupational health, ideally in the oil and gas or industrial sector. Preferred Qualifications Claims management experience with Disability Management programs, including Workers Compensation, Short Term Disability, and Long Term Disability. Advanced proficiency in human capital management platforms (e.g., Workday), electronic medical records systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate complex health data into actionable insights. Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as leaders, HR partners, insurers, and third‑party case management providers. Knowledge of applicable legislation and best practices related to disability management, human rights, employment standards, and workplace accommodation requirements. Ability to assess medical information and translate functional abilities into practical workplace accommodations and return‑to‑work plans. Experience managing complex or high‑risk cases, including mental health, chronic conditions, or prolonged absences, with a focus on early intervention and sustainable outcomes. Experience supporting or delivering workplace health, wellness, or prevention initiatives to reduce illness, injury, and disability duration.
