Project Manager (Water)

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Water) to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater projects from initial planning through to completion. This role will involve managing projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with agreed commercial, technical, environmental, and quality requirements. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.


Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets, risk registers, procurement plans, and delivery strategies. You will monitor progress, manage change control, identify and mitigate risks, and provide clear reporting on project performance. The role will also require effective contract and commercial management, including reviewing variations, supporting payment processes, and ensuring contractual obligations are understood and met. You will lead regular progress meetings, resolve issues promptly, and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivery partners, regulators, and internal teams. Ensuring compliance with health and safety, environmental, quality, and industry regulations will be central to the position.


Applicants should have proven experience managing water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering, or comparable infrastructure projects, ideally from design through construction and commissioning. A relevant qualification in engineering, construction, project management, or a related discipline is desirable, alongside experience with recognised project management and contract management practices. You should be confident interpreting technical information, managing budgets and programmes, and communicating with stakeholders at all levels. Strong leadership, organisation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is a proactive approach to safety, quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be commercially aware, comfortable working in a changing environment, and committed to delivering reliable outcomes for customers and communities.
