Genetic Counseling Assistant

Description Location: UCHealth Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion - Aurora, CO Department: Neurology Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Days Pay: $19.10 - $24.83 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option Summary Assists genetic counselors in day-to-day operations. Performs routine administrative duties and clinical support, requiring general knowledge of genetics and organizational policies and procedures. Responsibilities Triages genetic counseling referrals and schedules visits. Performs case preparation, including obtaining medical records, family history, and additional relevant information. Coordinates genetic testing, including sample collection, insurance authorization, preparing lab orders, and providing clinical information to genetic testing laboratories. Serves as contact for genetic counseling program for patients and other staff. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action. Requirements Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree. Preferred: Degree in biological sciences, Genetic Counseling Assistant training.
