Role Description The Licensed Insurance Agent is a full-time, on‑site role based in Decatur, IL. This position is responsible for consulting with new and existing customers to assess their insurance and financial needs, recommending appropriate State Farm products, and explaining coverage options in clear, accessible terms. Day‑to‑day tasks include generating quotes, processing applications, managing policy changes, and following up on leads to grow the customer base. The agent will handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide proactive policy reviews to ensure customers remain properly protected. Collaboration with the office team to meet sales goals, maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, and participate in local marketing or outreach activities is also expected. Qualifications Strong proficiency in Insurance Sales and Insurance, with the ability to match products to customer needs. Experience in Insurance Brokerage and familiarity with multiple insurance product lines. Knowledge of Finance to discuss basic financial concepts and support customers in planning for the future. Excellent Customer Service skills, including active listening, clear communication, and problem-solving. Valid insurance producer license for Illinois (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe). Comfort with working in an on‑site office environment and engaging with customers in person and by phone. Ability to meet performance goals, manage time effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team. High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree in business, finance, or a related field is beneficial. Basic computer proficiency, including CRM or agency management systems, and standard office software.
