Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (260004C7) Organization Developmental Disabilities - Gallipolis Developmental Center Work Location Gallipolis Developmental Center, 2500 Ohio Avenue, Gallipolis 45631-1699 Primary Location United States of America - OHIO - Gallia County - Gallipolis Compensation $29.34/hour Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week Union Exempt from Union Primary Job Skill Direct Support / Direct Care Technical Skills Data Analytics Communications Customer Service Program Management Training Professional Skills Critical Thinking Leading Others Managing Meetings Teamwork Continuous Improvement Job Duties Coordinates overall development & implementation of client-based habilitative programming (e.g., individual habilitation plan, individual program plan, individual behavior guidelines). Acts as chairperson of inter-disciplinary team meetings to coordinate comprehensive delivery of services (e.g., speech, medical, pharmacy, social services, psychology, psychiatry, vocational, educational). Models appropriate behavior/intervention to assigned caseload of 8-30 clients and supervises assigned staff (e.g., residential care supervisors, hospital aide coordinators, therapeutic program workers, teachers, activity therapy specialists, juvenile correctional officers, social workers). Trains staff in effective delivery of training techniques/methods and ensures habilitative services & documentation meet requirements (e.g., Medicaid ICF/IID). Maintains accurate records, reviews programs for effectiveness/compliance, initiates modifications/corrective actions when necessary. Conducts periodic rounds of cottages/modules/units/buildings or other active treatment locations to ensure proper implementation of programming and to monitor staff (e.g., therapeutic program workers) for proper documentation, appropriate client interactions, and compliance with Medicaid ICF/IID regulations and standards. Acts as chairperson of team meetings to review, analyze, and modify 30/90 day & annual reviews of client habilitation plans. Facilitates discussion, develops goals and objectives, prioritizes goals, proofs minutes, writes individual programs, and initiates changes to client programs on an ongoing basis. Participates in mock surveys of facilities and recommends proposed policies and procedures. Coordinates client home visits, transfers (inter/intra facility), and discharges to ensure efficiency; acts as relief residential care supervisor or assists therapeutic program workers in training clients. Attends meetings, training, workshops & seminars; serves on committees and task forces; acts as liaison with client families, guardians, case management staff, and/or community-based staff. Prepares reports, forms, and correspondence related to clients and staff. Assists with coordination of youth admissions and releases. The final candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123‑2‑02, “Background Investigations for Employment,” outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities. The selected applicant will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. A positive test result will not be offered employment.
