Registered Nurse, Adult ED, (36 Hours, Day/Night Rotation, Every Third Weekend, Every Other Holiday)

Adult Emergency Department – Boston Medical Center Boston Medical Center’s Adult Emergency Department is a level one trauma and comprehensive stroke center located in Boston’s South End. It provides a collaborative, innovative environment for nurses to deliver evidence‑based care to patients, families, and the community. Position Summary Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult ED. 36‑hour schedule (day/night rotation, every third weekend, every other holiday). An RN in this unit plays an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced environment. Job Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Adult ED, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. Communicate with health‑care team members, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records and enter/interpret computerized data. Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization. Assist the leadership team as needed in quality‑improvement projects. Job Requirements Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room RN experience. TNCC required or obtained prior to start date. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred). Ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years of hire. Relevant clinical experience and specialty certifications required for certain practice areas. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to meet job responsibilities. Basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language is a plus. Compensation Range $38.05–$75.33 per hour, based on qualifications and experience. Job Benefits Competitive pay.
