Cost Accountant

The Tone: This is a full-time role for Venteon’s client, a mid-sized, manufacturing company located in the Metro Detroit area. This organization is seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant to become an integral part of their team. This position is vital for connecting operational realities with financial outcomes, providing crucial insights into production costs and overall business profitability. The Cost Accountant’s work directly supports strategic decision-making and helps optimize financial performance. The TL;DR Role: Full Time Type: Full-time Location: In-person, Detroit Metropolitan Area Team: Works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Accounting teams. Mission: Owns the analysis of key financial metrics, standard costs, and inventory, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic pricing decisions. Tech Stack: Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup, SUMIF formulas), large ERP system What You’ll Actually Do Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Accounting teams to analyze key metrics and develop action plans for resolution. Cost Management: Develop and analyze standard costs, providing insights into significant changes. Inventory Oversight: Support physical inventory counts and conduct analysis of excess and obsolete inventory. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of necessary journal entries. Profitability Analysis: Supply pricing and quoting teams with data to inform future profitability assessments. The Must-Haves Background: Possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a closely related field, demonstrating a strong foundational understanding of financial principles. Experience: A minimum of two years of progressive accounting experience within a mid-sized or large company environment, coupled with practical working knowledge of a large-scale ERP system. Skills: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced capabilities such as Pivot Tables, Vlookup, and SUMIF formulas, essential for detailed financial analysis. #J-18808-Ljbffr Venteon
