School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Columbus, Ohio

Exciting opportunity available for a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to make a difference supporting students in a school setting! This contract position offers regular daytime hours, with a likely schedule of 11:30 am to 2:50 pm-about 3.5 hours per day-to be finalized once the transportation schedule is confirmed. Your day would include being on hand for a student who requires nursing care, supporting their health needs from the start of their school day through dismissal.


Your expertise will be valued as you collaborate with school staff, special education teams, and student transportation, ensuring a safe and caring environment.


Qualifications:

• Active LPN or LVN license in the state of Ohio
• Previous nursing experience in a school, pediatric, or special education setting preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification (current or willing to obtain)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Compassionate, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to a student during school hours, including during transportation if needed
• Manage medication administration, treatments, and assist with health procedures as outlined in the student's care plan
• Monitor for any change in the student's condition, quickly acting to address health concerns
• Document care according to school and regulatory guidelines
• Partner with teachers, school staff, and families to support student's health and educational goals
