Project Manager - Education

POSITION SUMMARYThe Project Manager on Education Projects (K-12/Higher Education) is the primary leader in the field, and is directly accountable for the safety, financial performance, and team development on site. The Project Manager will lead the project team in the construction of the entire Project. This position is responsible to provide effective leadership to the project staff and ensure quality and timely completion of the project.RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in developing project chart of accounts, site logistics plan and bidding projectsMaintain thorough understanding of the McCarthy/Owner contract and develop detailed Project Contract status reportOversee the pay request process, job cost report and total cost projection reportsEnsure project quality and effective implementation of safety, EEO and Affirmative Action programsTrain and monitor progress of all project labor and staffReview and approve material, forming system and equipment needsDevelop, schedule and lead project close-out processesDevelop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, subcontractors and owners to represent McCarthy core valuesQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering requiredAdvanced knowledge of construction principles/practices required7+ years of experience in highly complex commercial construction projects5+ years in K-12 or Higher Education ProjectsExperience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform workExperience leading successful project teams, including development of employees and maintaining relationships with external entities McCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.NOTICE TO EXTERNAL SEARCH FIRMS: McCarthy’s Talent Acquisition Team is the only authorized representative permitted to engage with external search firms, staffing agencies, or other third-party recruiting partners.
