About the Position

Job Title: RN II - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience reading basic telemetry strips. - Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA. - Cerner experience recommended. Description: The unit provides care for a diverse patient population including COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, CVA, as well as general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients. Ratios on the unit are 1:5. Telemetry is monitored remotely and telemetry techs are available. Registered Nurses are required to interpret telemetry strips and sign them at least once per shift. Charge Nurses do not take patient assignments. There are Nurse Aides on the unit with a patient ratio of 1:10-15. Equipment includes Bipap, Cpap, high flow, and some breathing treatments. Shifts are 12 hours with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Self-scheduling is utilized but finalized by the manager. Weekend requirement is two weekends per four-week schedule. Holiday requirement includes working two days and one evening or two evenings and a day for major holidays. Floating to other units may be required if qualified. Scrub color is navy blue. Registered Nurses may have to float to other campuses or units.
