Subcontract Administrator – Jacksonville Ship Repair BAE Systems is currently seeking a Subcontract Administrator to support the Jacksonville Ship Repair business. In this role you will be part of an integrated team managing subcontractor spend in the hundreds of millions across a diverse set of subcontractors and commodity categories. You will develop subcontracts in accordance with specifications, requirements, work statements, and terms and conditions. Responsibilities Handle proposal preparation, review, and execution; develop subcontractor evaluation and selection criteria; negotiate provisions such as price, schedule, work statements, and terms to meet or exceed business requirements; prepare and administer high‑value/complex subcontract awards. Execute to approved procurement policies and procedures to provide the best value while maintaining quality, service requirements, and good subcontractor relations. Ensure procurement compliance and perform cost/price analysis. Emphasize subcontractor engagement, internal and external relationship building, development of new subcontractors, and advancement of commodity strategies. Respond to subcontractor inquiries, resolve invoice issues, and participate in fact‑finding activities related to safety, quality, and performance. Drive Partner2Win initiatives and evaluate supplier performance relative to cost, delivery, integrity, quality, performance objectives, contract compliance, and other factors. Communicate effectively internally and externally, build mutually beneficial relationships, and proactively adopt best practices and support new initiatives. Lead continuous improvement (root cause & corrective action) to optimize team and subcontractor performance. Assess, prioritize, and drive issues to closure while exercising assertiveness when required. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties. Exhibit best practices in work habits and collaborate to promote operational excellence. Deliver quality customer service to internal and external customers and foster good subcontractor relationships. Required Education, Experience & Skills Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of experience or equivalent education/experience. Cost analysis experience (cost and pricing determination, commercial item determination, competitive analysis). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience generating, negotiating, and executing subcontracts and purchases. Ability to resolve contractual conflicts with subcontractors through negotiations and contractual vehicles. Knowledge of project/supplier management, financial acumen, and contract terms/conditions. Proven leadership and organizational change experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong time‑management and organizational skills. Strategic and critical thinking abilities. Ability to find win‑win solutions and a “make it happen” attitude. Ability to develop and implement continuous improvement strategies. Ability to collaborate with Contracts, Finance, Programs, Operations, and Compliance Teams. Ability to develop and utilize metrics to proactively manage the department and meet critical business objectives. Preferred Education, Experience & Skills Experience in a large, complex, multifaceted environment, preferably in the ship‑repair industry. Experience leading major procurement efforts in a Department of Defense contracting environment. Knowledge of FAR, DFAR regulations, and flow‑down requirements. Knowledge of ITAR and EAR, and understanding of CPSR audits and requirements. Comprehensive understanding of subcontractor solicitations, bid analysis, and the bid process. Familiarity with defense industry regulations and the role of subcontractors in complex industries. Experience with Cost Point ERP systems. Experience across multiple functions such as operations, supply chain, and procurement. Background in subcontracts, contracts, or legal matters. Pay Information Full‑Time Salary Range: $61,278–$104,173 Individual salaries are determined by business considerations, local market conditions, and candidate qualifications.
