We are seeking a Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machining equipment to produce quality parts that meet customer and company specifications.


The Machinist may work with machines such as manual chuckers, drills, hones, hobs, shapers, OD grinders, and other machining equipment as assigned. The ideal candidate will have basic machining knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read blueprints and perform basic inspections.


This is a hands-on position where some supervision and guidance may be provided to help meet productivity, quality, and safety goals. Hours: 2nd shift 3:30pm - 12:00am, Monday-Friday


Responsibilities

• Set up and operate assigned machines with oversight as needed.
• Operate manual chuckers, drills, hones, hobs, shapers, OD grinders, and other machining equipment.
• Follow detailed work instructions, process requirements, and established manufacturing procedures.
• Inspect finished parts according to provided instructions and specifications.
• Make necessary equipment and tooling adjustments to achieve required dimensions and finishes.
• Identify quality issues and work with coworkers or supervisors to resolve problems.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities as needed.
• Accurately record production and inspection information.
• Maintain accurate time reporting.
• Follow TPM requirements and established preventative maintenance practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company quality and safety requirements.
• Work cooperatively with team members and ask for assistance when needed.

Requirements: Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of related machining experience or certified machining training.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Understanding of basic mathematics and geometry.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T).
• Familiarity with general machining and inspection equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal machining training through college coursework, vocational training, certificate programs, or an apprenticeship.
• Experience with a variety of machining processes and equipment.
• Experience with inspection equipment and techniques.
• LEAN manufacturing experience.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

The ideal candidate is a mechanically inclined individual with 1-2 years of machining experience or formal machining training. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating a variety of machines, reading blueprints, inspecting parts, and making basic machine or tooling adjustments.
