Senior Plant EngineerThe Senior Plant Engineer holds site responsibility for daily operation and maintenance of site utilities, as well as the execution of capital projects related to utilities, buildings, and grounds from design inception through release to Operations, and acts as a technical resource to the facilities management organization for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.The Senior Plant Engineer reports to the Sr VP Site Operations. Facility & Electrical Engineers / Construction Managers are direct reports to the Senior Plant Engineer.Primary responsibilities of this role include the following:1. Facilities Engineering and Troubleshootinga. Owns daily operation and maintenance of site utilities. Inclusive of: Steam & Hydronic Boiler Systems. Air cooled and water-cooled chillers, High voltage power distribution, water and waste water treatment systems, building management systems and controls.b. Maintenance of buildings and grounds.c. Act as back-up support to the Department Manager of Facilities2. Capital Project Managementa. Oversee the execution and successful close-out of site capital construction projectsb. Lead cross-functional project teams to design, build, commission (validate) small to mid-sized facility and utility improvement and construction capital projectsc. Develop, manage, and track project time-lines and project capital budgetsd. Maintain all site-mandated cGMP and safety requirements during all phases of construction and qualificatione. Write and execute validation and commissioning protocolsf. Produce and maintain documentation related to the project, including: Change controls, PO requests, project schedules, sketches and drawings to assist in project execution3. Plant Change Activitya. Serve as a member of the Change Control Committee to evaluate proposed change activity at the plant4. Management of Facility Engineers / Construction Managersa. Manage day to day activities and work assignments in support of site goals and objectives.b. Train and develop junior engineers to increase their skills and abilities.QualificationsA bachelors degree in an engineering/technical discipline, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, with 10 years of facilities related experience; or an associates degree in a technical discipline with 15 years of facilities related experience.This role requires strong technical leadership, technical writing and communication skills, the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, and proficiency with a currently supported version of AutoCAD®, MS Excel and Word. The ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment is necessary for success.Soft Skills and Cultural FitThis role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail. Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation are necessary for successGMP Decision-Making AuthorityApproval of change controls that relate to or affect systems in areas of assigned responsibility as back-up to the Department Manager of Facilities.Approval of validation and commissioning documents in areas of assigned responsibility.Product release and rejection decisions - Provide technical assistance to QA as needed as back-up to the Department Manager of Facilities.The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000.00.
