About the Position

Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Ultrasound Technologist General, Abdominal, OB, Small Parts Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30/5:00 pm Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Must have ARRT and ARDMS Certifications: Current BLS and compliance with continuing medical education (CME) Must-Have: - Ability to work independently performing ultrasound general exams, including Abdomens, OB, GYN, Breast, and Vascular/Arterials. - Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the referring physician and radiologist. - Responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the Imaging Department. - Ability to troubleshoot ultrasound equipment and effectively communicate with service engineers for repairs. - Capability to perform general diagnostic radiology procedures. - Willingness to cross-train into other imaging modalities. - Competence in organizing daily work schedules and performing related clerical duties, including scheduling patients. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and the healthcare team. - Ability to follow established departmental procedures. Description: This position requires an individual capable of performing a variety of ultrasound imaging procedures. The Ultrasound Technologist will work independently to conduct general exams. Strong communication skills are essential for providing diagnostic information to physicians and radiologists. The technologist assumes responsibility for patient safety within the Imaging Department. Troubleshooting of ultrasound equipment is a key responsibility, along with effective communication for repairs. The role includes the performance of general diagnostic radiology procedures and has a focus on cross-training opportunities. The Ultrasound Technologist will manage their daily work schedule and support clerical tasks as needed. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and the healthcare team is crucial. Adherence to departmental procedures is expected at all times.
