Respiratory Therapist – NICU Location: Irving, TX Assignment Duration: 13‑week contract position. Schedule: Day Shift – 7 AM to 7 PM. The Respiratory Therapist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is responsible for managing respiratory care for critically ill neonate patients, performing advanced respiratory procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients in critical condition. Responsibilities Conduct blood gas analysis and airway management. Assist with bedside bronchoscopy as needed. Provide emergency and routine airway management for all patient populations. Administer respiratory therapy medications and develop RT plans of care. Document patient therapy provided and ensure effective communication with physicians. Participate in CodeBlue, Trauma, and STEMI response. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required. Must possess a Texas state license as a Respiratory Therapist. Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Critical‑care management experience with adult ventilated patients is essential. Knowledge in ventilator weaning guidelines and tracheostomy care management is necessary.
