Aircraft Loads & Dynamics Engineer

Salary: $142,245 - 235,409 per year Requirements:

• We require a BS and/or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, or a related engineering discipline.
• We need 10+ years of experience in aircraft or rotorcraft static loads and load criteria.
• We require hands-on experience deriving static and dynamic loads for aircraft.
• We need experience developing aeroelastic analysis models.
• We require proficiency with MSC NASTRAN, ZAERO, or comparable analysis tools.
• We need coding experience with MATLAB and/or Python.
• We value familiarity with Patran, FEMAP, RCAS, Adams, or similar software.
• We require experience with ground vibration testing and/or static load testing.
• We require experience with Special Class Airworthiness under Part 21.
• We require that you are a US Person or US Permanent Resident.
• Preferred: knowledge of CFD analysis.
• Preferred: experience working with FAA DERs on structures.
• Preferred: knowledge or experience with aeroservoelastic analyses.

• We perform static and dynamic loads analyses for flight and ground conditions such as gust, turbulence, landing, taxi, takeoff, and emergency maneuvers.
• We develop load cases in line with certification criteria and design requirements.
• We support the creation of aerodynamic databases and load envelopes in coordination with our aerodynamics team.
• We carry out aeroelastic evaluations, including flutter, divergence, and control reversal studies, to confirm structural stability.
• We reduce risk associated with structural resonance, fatigue, and dynamic instabilities.
• We analyze the effects of sustained engine imbalance, including rotor unbalance or blade loss, on structural loads and dynamic response.
• We prepare technical reports, substantiation materials, and compliance data packages for regulatory authorities.
• We ensure alignment with applicable airworthiness standards and certification regulations.
• We work with regulatory agencies and certification specialists as needed.
• We provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and team members.
• We collaborate with our business development and sales organization to grow and diversify our air vehicle customer base.
