The function of this position is to maintain clean, orderly, sanitary, and safe environment by following established policies, procedures, and practices of the Housekeeping department.

1. QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: High school diploma required.

Skills: Ability to operate a variety of floor care equipment including buffers and carpet cleaning equipment.

Experience: Floor care and janitorial experience in a health care setting preferred.

Physical Demands: Walking, bending, stooping, most of the day. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. required.

1. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Spray buffing floors

Dry mop & wet mop floors.

Strip and wax floors.

Wash walls, ceilings, windows, and doors.

Vacuum and steamex carpets.

Transport covered soiled linen from wings to laundry.

Gather and dispose of all trash.

Cleans, mops and washes floors in basement area and stairways.

Cleans lighting fixtures, tops of windows and other high places.

Remove and rehang drapes and divider curtains.

Reports structural defects, wear an tear and defects in furnishings to supervisor.

Report evidence of pests to Supervisor.

Assist activity department moving tables and chairs as directed.

Assists with door alarms per procedure.

Transports clean linen to wings.

Transport furnishings and belongings of residents as directed.
