Role Highlights
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment strategies focused on achieving both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions targeting communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing issues.
- Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to enhance and support the patient's care plan.
- Equip patients and their families with resources and education to encourage progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional speech therapy evaluations and interventions in an inpatient setting to offer seamless care throughout the therapeutic process.
- Maintain prompt and precise documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Embrace growth through continuous education, staying abreast of the latest research and practices in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred certification as a Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Mastery of evidence-based interventions for all age groups, with a thorough understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills for interacting effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Flexibility to modify therapeutic approaches to cater to diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records and adhering to documentation protocols.
