Program Support Engineer

We’re looking for talented personnel to join our Ashore Support Engineering Team, located at our Chesapeake, VA office. As a Program Support Engineer, you will be responsible for oversight and quality control functions within shipboard automated maintenance management systems. Duties and Responsibilities Serve as Program Support Engineer assigned to our customer programs. Serve as a consultant to the Shipboard Management Team, working closely with afloat and ashore team members in the life cycle management of the vessel. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAMM Ashore and Afloat modules, taking ownership of technical issues in the program of record and driving resolution internally and externally. Assist the customer in troubleshooting and navigating maintenance support modules. Assist personnel with work package development and documentation of work performed during shipyard availabilities. Review ship availability plan of action and milestones (POAMS) and other shipyard availability information for data quality and policy compliance. Train shipboard personnel on the use of maintenance management software, document work performed, and prepare debriefs for the customer(s). Tracking the status of the assigned vessel maintenance activities, reporting on compliance, maintenance efficiency, and assisting the ship and Port Engineers in completing items. Working with the Program Managers, Port Engineers, and Shipboard Engineers in correcting data quality errors. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Data Analysis, or related skills 4+ years of experience as a government or commercial Port Engineer, or experience with a classification or flag state authority, with direct exposure to vessel regulatory compliance Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance Strong research, problemsolving, and analytical skills Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly Strong verbal, written, and communication skills Highly organized and detailoriented Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marine, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering A Valid U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) in Engineering Recent sailing experience with Military Sealift Command or U.S. Merchant Marine #J-18808-Ljbffr Emprise
