Check us out! Oahu Country Club is one of Hawaii's first and most prestigious members-only golf clubs tucked in Nu'uanu valley. Summary: All candidates must be available to work all shifts on weekends and holidays, at the Grille bar and Banquet events. This position requires good communication to execute events in addition to the day-to-day operation of the bar. The position may also require assisting the manager on the floor with ordering products, interfacing with vendors, and assisting with the wine club storage area and members in addition to working and communicating with the culinary team and will also be assisting with the wine inventory. Will provide an outstanding service experience to any member or guest who enters the Oahu Country Club. This is a hands-on position requiring significant time on the floor interfacing with the associate team, club members, and guests. It is a high guest contact position and requires a person with a warm and outgoing personality with a high level of knowledge in food service, food products, and beverage/alcohol products. We are a non‑tiping club. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Easily accessible to Club Members on daily basis. Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor. Approach all encounters with members, guests, and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. Able to work in a multi-cultural workplace. Become familiar with local customs and nuances at the club. Maintain regular attendance in an effort of being visible to the operations team and Club Members as well as monitor work performance and member satisfaction. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing proper work attire and name tag. Be a good communicator both verbally and written. Maintain communication with all departments of the Club - golf pro shop, facilities, and grounds. Strong two-way communication with peers and senior leadership. Always comply with Oahu Country Club standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient club operations. Maintain all Club service standards. Set examples and do not implement or encourage shortcuts. Maintains proper inventory of all bar-related items, ordering, prep, set up, breakdown, cleaning as you go for a spotless bar and when necessary, wait tables, bus tables, bartending, assisting with schedules, marketing, the printing of collateral, and menus. Learn and understand all Club Member Rules and other special conditions that are managed by the F&B team such as Honolulu County liquor regulations. Maintain knowledge and understanding of service area and see that services are continually executed at the expected level. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the entire bar and surrounding area. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly. Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary. Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by associates, members, and guests. Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions. Participate in Club Public Relations events as needed. Qualifications: Strong verbal and written communication and member-customer service skills. A good listener, and able to make decisions within responsibility. Tactful and diplomatic interpersonal skills. A willingness to be a hands-on team player. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize responsibilities. Multi-tasking and time management are a must. Able to work both independently and in a team environment. Conscientious and dependable work ethic. Able to manage point-of-sales systems. Is detail-oriented and takes pride in their ability to follow through on tasks. Always maintain the cleanliness of the bar and its surroundings.
