Job Description A Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the guest rooms, public space, and back‑of‑the‑house areas in good repair. A facility engineer must be competent in various trades, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering, and masonry, to ensure an attractive and well‑maintained hotel. The person in this position must be able to roll their sleeves up and assist our teams when needed, living our “ONE TEAM. ONE VISION.” philosophy, and must also provide innovative ways that align with our mission to be the best, most respected hotel company in America. Complete all required training Adhere to all standard operating procedures and property‑specific brand standards Perform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures Repair or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous items Maintain a record of repairs performed, repairs calendared and pending, and repairs needing evaluation Inspect guestrooms, public space and back of the house to evaluate for areas to repair, touch up or replace Assist other department team members in the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program Have basic mechanical aptitude for the operation and repair of hotel facilities and equipment Have working knowledge of basic hand and power tools Is responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow associates, and hotel assets in conjunction with hotel management Will keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, associate issues, etc. Necessary Skills Able to communicate effectively in writing, by telephone and in person Able to report to scheduled shifts Able to work a flexible schedule; a 24/7 business may require availability of nights, weekends, and holidays Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and personal appearance Is organized, honest, and works well with others Can provide personalized, friendly service to every guest and associate Has the highest degree of integrity and is humble, living by the Golden Rule Able to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds Values dedication, innovation, respect, excellence, community focus, and a spirit of service Be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds Can perform work for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space or environment Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours Must be able to handle heat and stress Able to work in varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, etc. Have finger dexterity for operating equipment Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English Must be able to write Benefits Paid Time Off Optional Health, Wellness and Care benefits Health Reimbursement Program Flexible Spending Account Stay Discounts Optional company‑paid Life Insurance 401(k) and 401(k) matching Employee Assistance Program Several Voluntary and Supplemental Insurance Options Select Paid Holidays and One Personal Floating Holiday Loyalty Incentives and Other Unique Incentive Programs Equal Opportunity Statement Vision Hospitality Group LLC is an equal opportunity/AA/Disability/Veteran employer.
