Someone who can provide a fresh perspective and innovative insight to our initiatives.Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:Build features, maintain existing code, and fix bugs in JavaScript/TypeScript and ReactImplement best practices to continually increase performance and scalabilityCollaborate with the team to peer review code and suggest optimizations.Advocate for quality through innovation, curiosity and thoughtful debate.Collaborate with team and peers to design complex applications, and peer review codeExplore new technologies, and suggest additions to the existing tech stackInvestigate and help resolve any production issues from end user (UI) to service layer and work to prevent themWork with project managers to ensure that all project deliverables are on time and high qualityRequired Education, Experience/Skills/Training:Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or another technical fieldHave 3+ years of experience in web application development or software engineering in a large enterprise environment using modern frameworksExpertise in HTML & CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and React LibraryExperience with Tailwindcss or SCSSExperience with Node.js and Next.js or Express.jsExperience with unit testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Mocha, Vitest).Excellent problem-solving skills.Organized, detail-oriented and able to deliver project tasks on time.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated, self-starting individual.Have a track record of championing quality engineering: be adamant that all UI code is accessible and written in a way that can be testedHave an understanding of browsers, devices, and other user agent interoperability and compatibility concernsHave experience working with high-performing teams using Agile and Lean methodologies and frameworksBe a perfectionist who makes sure every pixel is in the right placeHave excellent verbal and written communication skillsCare about your craft and have opinions about the "right" way to do things with technologyPreferred Qualifications:Strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated, self-starting individual.Excellent collaboration skills and ability to use standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools such as Jira and Confluence, version control systems (e.g. Git), and CI/CD tools and pipelines.Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality resultsStrong curiosity about how Disney delivers the Magic and a desire to be a part of itThe hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $114,900 - $154,100 per year, in San Francisco, CA is $125,800 - $168,700 per year, in Seattle, WA is $120,300 - $161,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
