Role Overview The Field Engineering Specialist is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of the complete spectrum of avionics systems and proprietary communication systems on various single and multi-engine aircraft. Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina (on-site). Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm. Key Responsibilities Maintain, repair, test and calibrate various types of aircraft electronic equipment and related devices such as transmitters, amplifiers, receivers, RF distribution equipment, computer controllers and workstations. Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles and strong troubleshooting skills to determine avionics malfunctions and restore aircraft to full operational status. Install and maintain Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) modifications to the aircraft and advise operations and maintenance personnel on their use. Perform work in accordance with technical manuals, schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Apply knowledge of operational procedures, inspection requirements, troubleshooting and maintenance techniques to aircraft communications, navigation and ancillary electronics systems. Use a variety of aircraft test equipment, technical publications and schematics. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Licences & Qualifications Active Secret clearance at the time of hire, with eligibility to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. Experience Bachelor's degree with 4 years, graduate degree with 2 years, or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 8 years of experience with aircraft avionics operation, troubleshooting, repair and inspection. In-depth knowledge of aircraft avionics operation, troubleshooting, repair and inspection. Experience with a wide range of technical reference material, from commercial and OEM manuals to blueprints and engineering drawings. Requirements Willing and able to travel 30-50%, both internationally and domestically. Physical requirements include lifting, bending and climbing. Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products. Additional Information Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
