TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / CNC Machinist for a machine shop in the Wharton, TX area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience programming, setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC lathes and mills. Must be proficient in FANUC controls, G-code programming, blueprint reading, and precision machining. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining quality and production standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills to manufacture precision components.
• Develop, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-code and FANUC controls.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining techniques based on production requirements.
• Perform tool wear offsets, machine adjustments, and equipment setups to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Utilize micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to inspect finished components.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, equipment malfunctions, and programming errors to minimize production downtime.
• Identify opportunities to reduce machine setup times, improve machining processes, and increase production efficiency.
• Assist, train, and supervise CNC operators to ensure proper machining procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor production operations and inspect finished products to ensure compliance with ISO quality standards.
• Operate overhead cranes to safely transport and position materials and components.
• Maintain accurate production documentation and follow all workplace safety procedures.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of related CNC machining/programming experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency with FANUC CNC controls and G-code programming required.
• Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes and mills.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and machining specifications.
• Experience selecting cutting tools, fixtures, and performing tool wear offsets.
• Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and precision measuring instruments.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, and production efficiency improvements.
• Experience working with ISO quality standards and manufacturing safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and ability to assist and supervise CNC operators.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes safely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a precision machine shop environment.
• Experience improving CNC machining processes and reducing setup times.
• Experience training or supervising CNC machine operators.
• Strong background in CNC lathe and mill programming, troubleshooting, and precision manufacturing.
